TCL 2600-4 Hub Series [Tcl, Inc.]

The TCL 2600-4 products are active Ethernet Hubs (concentrators) for startopology 10 MB-per-second unshielded twisted pair (UTP) networks. TheseHubs provide four modular RJ-45 twisted pair links plus one of thefollowing: 1) a 10Base5 AUI (Attachment Unit Interface) port, 2) aThinnet 10Base2 BNC port, 3) a 10Base-FL/FOIRL Fiber Optic Interface, or4) a crossed-over UTP network port for easy connection to other hubs orDCEs via a straight-through twisted pair cable. These units may serve aseither standalone or departmental concentrators. The mini-net switchallows for a local network without a backbone connection. The 2600-4series Hubs are compatible with the IEEE 802.3 10Base-T standard.All models of the 2600-4 series feature Auto Partitioning, CollisionPropagation, Packet Regeneration, Jabber Protection, and Illegal PacketSuppression. The maximum allowable distance between the 2600-4 and aworkstation or network device (including other hubs) via unshieldedtwisted pair wiring is 100 meters. Hubs may be networked together byusing the AUI, BNC, Fiber Optic, or crossed-over UTP network interfaces,thus saving valuable RJ-45 workstation ports for user applications. The2600-4 hubs also have Polarity Sensing with automatic correction andNetwork Integrity Monitoring to ensure a proper link between the hub andthe station. These units have diagnostic LED indicators (power,activity, link, mini-net) which display Hub status. Internal 50-Ohmtermination of the 10Base2 BNC port is accomplished via an externally-accessible jumper.TCL 2600-4 10Base-T Hubs feature rugged, yet lightweight, metalenclosures. Their compact size makes them ideal for desktop applications.
